I offer 1-2 person classes in my shop in Springfield, VA, about 10 miles south of Washington, DC. Classes are project based where you take home your piece at the end of the class ready for finishing.
Classes are scheduled by appointment and the cost depends on the project and number of students

Spindle Back Windsor Chair Class
Learn the basics of Windsor chair construction while building this handsome, modern chair in five days
Learn to simulate green woodworking techniques using kiln dried boards
Shape spindles and carve the seat by hand
Learn proper grain orientation and to manipulate the moisture content of the parts for long lasting joinery
All tools and materials will be provided. Students can choose from walnut or cherry for the seat and crest. Undercarriage and spindles will be ash.
No prior woodworking experience required
8am - around 5pm daily with a break for lunch
Max two students
$1,500 for one student, $1,250 per student for two students
